1. Why choose an app-based policy?
At Zego, we are committed to building fairer products for our customers. By taking out our app-based policy with Driveway and sharing how you drive, you are able to take advantage of our cheapest price possible. We will also make sure that going forward, better drivers, get better, more fairly priced policies.
2.Which data does Zego get from Driveway?
Zego will only receive from Driveway your ‘Driver Score’, which you can also access yourself in the app, and general information about you installing or uninstalling the app.
3. What is my data used for?
Driveway helps us build up a clearer understanding of how you drive as an individual, and so also a clearer understanding of your risk. By taking out our telematics based policy and sharing how you drive, you are able to take advantage of our cheapest price possible. We will also make sure that going forward, better drivers, get better, more fairly priced policies.
4. Who has access to my driving data?
Only our telematics partner, Driveway, has full access to your driving data.
Our underwriter, Wakam can view any changes to your price, but they do not have full access to your driving data. No other third party has access to any of the information collected by Driveway.
5. What happens if I’m a passenger in another vehicle? Or if I take public transport?
Once you activate Driveway, our app senses your driving over time, so that over the full length of your policy, it can build up a clear understanding of your driving behaviours and habits. This means that Driveway is quickly able to understand the difference between when you’re driving and when you’re sat on a bus or train, or in your friend’s car.
6. Can the Driveway data impact my premium?
No, Zego doesn’t use the data shared by Driveway to change your price.
